The First House of Rice in Old City of Columns is Already Open - with links of the day

So, it's time for a look at most intriguing links of the day. We'll be talking about RealNetworks, Intel and Acer Inc.

To kick it off, let's see who's been talking about RealNetworks? It was www.eweek.com who wrote an article called Intel Buys Video Technology, Patents From RealNetworks.

What did they point out about RealNetworks? Well...:
Intel officials are looking to bolster the multimedia capabilities of its chips by video software buying and a host of patents from RealNetworks
and went on to say
In the deal announced Jan. 26, the giant chip maker said it will spend $120 million to buy RealNetworks next-generation video codec software as well as 190 patents and 170 patent applications, including what Intel calls RealNetworks foundational streaming media patents.

Google
Google: also known as The Big G

.

Next up it's a site that's been writing about Google - Damning Evidence Emerges In Google-Apple "No Poach" Antitrust Lawsuit.

They wrote:
Next week a class-action civil lawsuit will be heard in San Jose to determine if Google, Apple, Pixar, Lucasfilm, Adobe, Intel, and Intuit conspired to eliminate competition for skilled labor
... OK ...
In anticipation of the hearing, TechCrunch has attained evidence from the Department of Justice's investigation in 2010 which was made public this evening for the first time. It appears to support the plaintiff's case that the defendant companies tried to suppress employee compensation by entering into "no poach" agreements

To finish it's Feds Shut Down Megaupload.com File-Sharing Website from techland.time.com, focussing on Megaupload. Great things from them, particularly
An indictment accuses Megaupload.com of costing copyright holders more than $500 million in lost revenue from pirated films and other content
and
The indictment was unsealed one day after websites including Wikipedia and Craigslist shut down in protest of two congressional proposals intended to thwart online piracy
