Apple Inc. Faces Proview Lawsuit in U.S. Court

So, it's time for another links roundup. We'll be talking about Apple Inc. Google and Velti.

So, who has been writing about Apple? It was www.eweek.com with their post entitled Apple Faces Proview Lawsuit in U.S. Court.

What did they point out about Apple? Well...:
Apple is beingsued in the Superior Court of the State of California in Santa Clara County byProview Electronics Co. Ltd. And Proview Technology Co., both facets of Chinesetechnology company Shenzhen Proview Technology, which claims the tech giantengaged in deceptive practices when it bought the trademark to the term iPad
and went on to say
In itslawsuit, filed Feb. 17, Proview claims that Apple concealed its real intentionswhen it purchased the trademark, ostensibly for a special-purpose entity namedIP Application Development Ltd. (iPAD). Of course, Apple ended up attaching thename to its best-selling tablet, something that Proview feels entitles it tounspecified damages.

Google: also known as The Big G

.

Next it's a site that's been writing about Google - Why Any Future Anti-Piracy Legislation Must Not Regulate Search Engines.

They wrote:
Having lost backing and support, two anti-piracy bills, SOPA and PIPA are currently on the shelves
... sounds interesting ...
However, one thing is certain. Entertainment lobbyists and lawmakers won t walk away from the flourishing worldwide piracy activity without attempting to legally address it

Last but not least we have Velti is Working on a Mobile "Do Not Track" List from techcrunch.com, focussing on Velti. They had some interesting points to make, particularly
Velti plans to announce two new initiatives aimed at helping mobile advertisers get ahead of data collection and privacy concerns, according to a source who was briefed by the company
and
My source says Velti, a publicly traded mobile ad company, is working on the first "Do Not Track" list built for mobile. Consumers should be able to direct their smartphone browsers at a specific Do Not Track website, which will build a "fingerprint" for that phone adding it to a list of devices that will be blocked from ad targeting. Velti is working with partners to finalize these plans, but it might announce the Do Not Track feature this week, at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona.
