Apple vs. Google: Who Owns Slide-to-Unlock on Phones? - also the best of the web

Google
Google: also known as The Big G

.

So, it's time for another links roundup. We'll be talking about Google, Facebook and Microsoft.

To kick it off, let's see who's been talking about Google? It was mashable.com with their post entitled Apple vs. Google: Who Owns Slide-to-Unlock on Phones?.

What did they say about Google? They said:
That simple function has prompted a huge amount of legal wrangling, with both Apple and Google (by proxy of its recent acquisition, Motorola) scoring victories over the ownership of "slide-to-unlock" on phones in the past week
and went on to say
Both iPhones and Android devices unlock in the same way: with the user sliding his or her finger along part of the screen.

Next we have a site that's been writing about Facebook - Facebook Now Features Verified Accounts.

They wrote:
Both Twitter and Google+ already have a feature that give public figures from celebrities to politicians around the world the ability to "verify" their accounts, Starting today, Facebook is now giving public figures the chance to have higher, more prominent placement and recognition through the social network community by having their accounts verified
... interesting ...
Facebook requires them to use a passport, driver's license, or government-issued work or military image. If the user cannot provide any one of those documents, they can also submit two other forms of ID, such as a library card, credit card, or a birth certificate. Once the account is verified, Facebook will immediately delete all of these documents.

Lastly it's Apache Deltacloud Emerges as Top-Level Project from www.eweek.com, focussing on Microsoft. Good stuff from them, particularly
It also consists of a number of implementations of this API for the most popular cloud computing environments such as Amazon, Eucalyptus, GoGrid, IBM, Microsoft, OpenStack, Rackspace and more
and
Apache Deltacloud defines a RESTful web service API for interacting with cloud service providers and resources in those clouds in a unified manner. . In addition to the API server, the project also provides client libraries for a wide variety of languages
